In the Washington Post article, " congress must investigate Trump's alleged sexual misconduct", Eugene Robinson describes Donald Trump's unacceptable behavior as the way he expresses himself towards women. The author provides the reader with Trump's statement to support his reasoning on why he believes Trump's being a defamation. Robinson's intention is to show the audience that Trump is not who he presents himself as, and hides his true self.
On the first section of the article, Robinson mentions the Presidents comment on the way he treats women. "I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her... you know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it... you can do anything, . . . Grab ’em by the p----. You can do anything." says Trump. This statement is absurd as women are being disrespected and placed in an extremely uncomfortable situation. As a disturbingly side of the Republican is being showed, Robinson attempts to convey that women should come together, draw a line and never have themselves be treated that way. There's a shift as Robinson explains how women would fear not being believed. "And that, in the end, they may well have their lives ruined while the powerful men who abused them go merrily on their way." These women are afraid of putting themselves out there, while at the end their won't be any justice. Even thought Trump is not admitting his actions, their voices should be heard for themselves and for the better of the country. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/its-time-for-congress-to-investigate-trumps-alleged-sexual-misconduct/2017/11/23/4354aef4-cfc0-11e7-81bc-c55a220c8cbe_story.html?utm_term=.773873da0ada

Dear Congressman Jen Hensarling,
I believe net neutrality should not be removed, as it has come so far to help us in school and it's just something we use every single day. The media has played a prominent role in our lives, even for those who don't access the it directly. Almost everything and anything is now available all over the internet. The internet has become a versatile facility which helps us finish our tasks freely and conveniently with just a few clicks. Without it we won't be able to access apps, that helps us such as online textbooks or quick definitions, without having to spend extra money when we could use it for free. I would really appreciate if you would consider this. Sincerely, Daniela M Over the years, the internet has becomes one of the most compelling tools of the modern age as a source of entertainment and knowledge. Americans have began to worry over who has control of the internet's content as network neutrality is at risk, which means network providers can block and slow down sites. The internet is essential for many people for their daily routines, therefore net neutrality is significant.
For instance, schools are concerned about what would happen to the students educational resources or how the districts will have to pay more for a quicker access. Without net neutrality, it could potentially harm all efforts made, to properly provide high quality learning to every student. Students are accustomed to have internet, to complete assignments online, driving school, research papers, access textbooks and it's just an easier way to access free resources. Additionally, the internet has become momentous when it comes to communication. In the past, people who wanted to reach out to somebody who lived in a distant place, they would have to use a payphone. If they didn't have access to a payphone, they would have to write a letter, which it generally took quite a few days to arrive. Now a days, there's e-mails, face time and ways to send messages all around the world. Without net neutrality, sending a message would take just as long as sending a letter. To sum up, there would be a new reality without net neutrality protecting our rights to access the information we look for without technology and financial obstacles that are enforced upon us. Some may argue that removing net neutrality will help students and adults focus more on their tasks, without being on social media most of the time however, the internet has made other rely on it and without it they won't be able to complete their duty. In 2017, on the article "How Repealing Net Neutrality Could Affect Schools' Internet Access," the editorial staff disputed towards the impact that net neutrality would cause on classrooms by the price increase. The use of detailed information, facts and opposing point of views supports the authors claim. Overall, the article's intent is to convince the reader to help engage over keeping net neutrality. The audience consists of the community worried about receiving slower lanes and higher expenses; the tone regarding " they aren't able to pay" is pessimistic and apprehensive.
Initially, the editorial staff describes what net neutrality is by providing an interviewee's statement. The interviewee says, "but when carriers can choose to prioritize paid content over freely available content, schools really are at risk." This is an important phrase, because it displays the huge impact the internet would causes to the schools and the students. It shows how today, students receive a free education without stressing out on the amount of money that is needed. To summarize, the author criticizes and conveys his ignorance towards net neutrality. "You know, generally, the response is, don't worry, don't worry; we're, you know - we're not going to do anything, but the catch at the end of the day is, who are those companies answering to, right?" By imparting the reader with a conflicting opinion, the author makes the reader think about it twice. The author's intentions, were to have the reader pensive over the effects net neutrality would cause. www.npr.org/2017/12/12/570248510/how-repealing-net-neutrality-could-affect-schools-internet-access |
